Concession information is loaded directly onto your Bee Card. This means that when you tag on and off the bus, you’ll automatically be charged the correct, discounted fare.

Available to children aged up to 5 years old, free travel at all times. Simply hop on board!
Child and Youth concession (5 -18)
Available to children aged 5 to 18 years old, free travel at peak times with a registered Bee Card.
When you request a Bee Card (cards cost $5) you will be asked for your date of birth and then the concession applied.

Tertiary concession
Available to tertiary students with valid student ID, standard discount to your fare.
Once you have your Bee Card and an online account, you can load the concession in the following ways.
- Take it with you to the student service centre at your institute
- Visit a Bay of Plenty Regional Council office
- Email transport.admin@boprc.govt.nz
- Call 0800 4 229 287
Remember to have proof of your eligibility such as your tertiary ID with you.
Accessibility concession
Available if you are permanently unable to drive due to an impairment and gives you free travel at all times.
The impairment can be physical, intellectual, psychological, sensory or neurological, applicants are assessed by approved agencies.

SuperGold concession
Available to SuperGold card holders, gives you free off-peak travel after 9am Monday to Friday and all-day Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. A standard discount fare is charged for travel before 9.00am Monday to Friday.
When you request a Bee Card you will be asked for your SuperGold Card number and date of birth. This information will be checked with the Ministry of Social Development and when validated the concession applied.

Community Connect concession
AvailableThe Community Connect concession expires with your Community Services Card. You can renew it online by logging into your account, selecting the card, and reapplying for Community Connect when you get a new card. to Community Service Card (CSC) holders, gives you 50% discount on adult fares.
When you request a Bee Card (first card free, replacements $5) you will be asked for your CSC number and date of birth. This information will be checked with the Ministry of Social Development and when validated, the concession applied.

Please note that The Community Connect concession expires with your Community Services Card. You can renew it online by logging into your account, selecting the card, and reapplying for Community Connect when you get a new card.
